Positive, Positive, Positive,

A day, one day, three years ago

We truly became a family then

Walking, talking, fretting,

Certain that joy was right around the corner

Once the shock flew away.

But we didn't know that joy lived in fretting until everything was gone.

Lost almost as soon as it was found.

My first, your first, our first.

Announcement became pronouncement.

Too quick to count.

But it counts.

It counts in doctor's visits and blood draws,

In calls to Insurance, in days of worry,

And, yes, in tears.

In tears and bargains and wishes and shots.

Oh yes, it counts.
