Feeling Like Jean Grey - A Poem

Writer's picture: Kimmy HigginbothamKimmy Higginbotham

Silence is like sandpaper on my frontal love,

But words make my ears bleed.

The thought of speaking out loud to another person for even one more second fills my throat with gas

Suffocates me

And I long for a match to ignite it all

Burn like a dragon from the inside out

Catch fire and let my fury and pain illuminate the night

So that someone, anyone looking on might say

"I know that feeling"

"You're not alone"

"Burn it down"

"Do not be afraid".
